2019 Daegu International Future Auto Expo

The “2019 Daegu International Future Auto Expo,” showcasing cutting-edge technologies in next-generation mobility, opened at EXCO in Daegu.
According to the Daegu Metropolitan Government, the expo runs through October 20, featuring 271 companies from 26 countries participating in exhibitions, forums, and export consultation programs.
Hosted by the Daegu Metropolitan Government and the Korean Academy of Automotive Technology, and organized by the Korea Intelligent Automotive Parts Promotion Institute and EXCO, the event brings together global automakers such as Hyundai Motor, Kia Motors, Renault Samsung, and Tesla, along with domestic and international parts manufacturers and universities.
Approximately 1,000 booths present a comprehensive vision of the future mobility ecosystem. Now in its third year, the expo has grown into the largest event of its kind in Korea, drawing significant attention from the industry.
At the exhibition, Hyundai Motor showcased its hydrogen fuel cell vehicle “NEXO” alongside a “Hydrogen Electric House,” offering visitors an immersive experience of hydrogen-powered future living. Kia Motors presented its “Real-time Emotion Adaptive Driving (READ)” system, first unveiled at CES in the United States, which optimizes the vehicle’s interior environment in real time according to the driver’s emotional state and driving conditions.
Leading parts and technology companies, including Hyundai Mobis, LG, Samsung SDI, and KT, also introduced advanced mobility solutions. LG presented its future mobility portfolio through a dedicated “LG Pavilion,” highlighting collaborative technologies across electronics and chemical sectors. Samsung SDI exhibited high energy-density batteries designed to extend EV driving range, batteries applied to BMW high-performance electric vehicles, and battery systems for electric buses.
Daegu-based automotive parts manufacturers such as PyungHwa Holdings, SL, Sambo Motors, Kyungchang Industrial, PyungHwa Valeo, ERAE AMS, and Daeyoung Chaevi participated in the exhibition, presenting their latest future mobility technologies.
In addition, 61 overseas buyers confirmed participation in the export consultation program. Procurement representatives from global automakers including Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, and General Motors visited EXCO to conduct one-on-one business meetings with participating companies.
Mayor Kwon Young-jin of Daegu stated, “We hope this expo will provide regional companies with an opportunity to showcase their innovative technologies to the world and to explore new global markets while experiencing firsthand the latest advancements in future mobility.”
