Air strut, Complete

An air strut is an assembly combining an air-filled air spring and a damper (shock absorber). It controls suspension stiffness and ride height in real-time by adjusting internal air pressure based on vehicle dynamics and road conditions.

Function
  • Improved Ride Quality: Provides superior vibration isolation compared to metal springs.
  • Adjustable Ride Height via Air Pressure: Maintains a consistent ride height regardless of load.
  • Enhanced Driving Stability: Suppresses body roll during cornering and controls body pitch (dive/squat) during sudden braking and acceleration.
Size
  • Front: Approx. Ø20 x H 600 mm
  • Rear: Approx. Ø20 X H 1,000mm
Weight
  • Front:  Approx. 9 kg
  • Rear:  Approx. 10 Kg
Features
  • Spring utilizing compressed air: A lightweight alternative to metal springs, using air as the elastic medium.
  • Compact Structure: Combines the air spring and damper (shock absorber) into a single unit.
  • Variable Stiffness: Adjusts spring stiffness (spring rate) by regulating internal air pressure.
PyungHwa Advantages
  • We manufacture and supply bellows—the core component of air struts and air springs—in-house. Utilizing our proprietary Axial Ply manufacturing technology, we deliver superior durability and ride quality.
  • With comprehensive capabilities spanning product design, assembly, process technology, and durability/performance testing infrastructure, we provide quality solutions optimized for diverse OEM requirements.
